Community Connections

Pleasant Street supports our community in many ways. Here are a few way we plug into the community and how you can plug into community service at Pleasant Street FBC.

Springvale Community Cookout

For the past several years, we have hosted, community cookout complete with food, games, bounces houses, face painting and more, all for free for our community. The block party is normally in mid to late August. You can follow the Springvale Community Block Party page on Facebook to see all the details as it gets closer.

Springvale Kids Jam

We also team up with a few other area churches to offer a week long evening camp called Kids Jam! This high energy event lasts for two hours and is filled with singing and activities as well as Bible stories and a free dinner!

Mom's Coffee Hour

Each month Pleasant Street FBC hosts a Mom's Coffee Hour geared towards mom with younger children in the home. This is a chance for mothers in our community to get together and have some time together while trained volunteers from our church provide child care. The coffee is strong and the conversation is always lively. During the summer, they meet at various times and dates at a local park. The rest of the year, they typically meet the second Monday of the month at the church. Follow our Facebook page for information about upcoming gatherings.

Sanford Food Pantry

Our church has several volunteers that serve at the local food pantry. Also, each month we spotlight a few items for individuals in our church to provide for the food pantry.

Community Festivals Participation

Pleasant Street frequently sets up during several of community festivals Sanford hosts. We've provided snow cones and popcorn, and even set up a private baby diaper changing station for the 4th of July celebration.
